Handmade Mondays | Houston Portrait + Wedding Photographer

Houston Portrait + Wedding Photographer

Prior to our trip to Capri, I was tasked with the duty of bringing some lightweight decorations and miscellaneous items for the 65th Wedding Anniversary Party we would be throwing for my Grandparents during our stay. Of course, I put it off to the last minute and was rushing around trying to find just the right things. In the end, I tossed in my suitcase the most random (in hindsight) materials; scissors, hole punch, gardening twine, paper doilies, typewriter stamps, double-sided tape, random yellow and pink poofy Martha Stewart stickers (yes, can’t help it – I really like some of her products, though mine was definitely not $6+ when I bought it…must have been on sale!), small celephane baggies and, of course, cupcake liners. Who doesn’t travel the globe with a suitcase full of cupcake liners? Well, we didn’t have wrapping paper, so-to-speak, so I wrapped up the handpainted plaque like this…

Cupcake Liner Bow

Okay, so the cupcake liners got a little bent out of shape when Baby O insisted on helping me, but that’s alright. The funny-looking bow is glued to a cardstock make-shift card. In the center is one of those poofy pom-pom stickers I mentioned above.

We also had a gift from my Aunt and Uncle to give to the Happy Couple. It was already beautifully wrapped and only needed a tag, so I used my scribbly handwriting and handy hole-punch to make a doily gift tag. I rather liked it in the end…

And lastly, I don’t know how I feel about the cupcake liner craze. So far, I’ve typically preferred mine when they are encasing a yummy cupcake or muffin for me to eat! But, it’s worth noting that there are some pretty creative alternative uses out there…Look at these two, below…

Cupcake Liner Roundup

The photo (above-left) makes me smile, thinking of decorating a tricycle for Baby O’s first 4th of July Parade (YEARS away of course!) and the photo (above-right) is just beautiful styling. I’ve already visited this lady’s blog a few times for her wonderful party ideas.

{Happy Monday!}
