Handmade Hat I Houston Baby Photographer

Wow, what a week! So, in addition to photographing Portraits and Weddings as Jane Foster Photography, I also get to do some work for Terry Halsey Photography, who specializes in Commercial Photography (think Architectural Photography, Business Headshots, Editorial Work, and so on) as well. Over the past year or so Terry and Crew have become my dear friends…The people I chat with during the business day, and that I work with on many happy occassions. This Saturday we woke at 4am and drove 45 minutes or so north to a new restaurant/bar in Northwest Houston. The company brought in models and we set up lights and helped organize a shoot to show off their new big screen tv’s and their handsome new bar. It was really funny to have models posed with assorted adult beverages in hand at 7 in the morning. We had them pretend to point and yell and cheer at the game that was playing on the big screen tv. We had studio lights set up all over the room and Terry’s images directly downloading to a laptop so that we could communicate with the art director. It was really fun, especially for so early in the morning. We’ve done several interesting shoots lately, with many more on the calendar, so I will try to post about them every once in a while.

I’ve also had many fun shoots lately for Jane Foster Photography, and a Wedding this upcoming weekend! So, I’m having a blast…BUT I’m behind on my crafty endeavors, or, at least, on finishing and photographing them. So, this week I’m showing off a hat that Baby O has had for a few months now, but it is one of my absolute favorites AND she is about to outgrow it. Unfortunately, she really wasn’t in a posing mood today…She was so cute and sleepy and kept rubbing her eyes. Then, every time I laid her down in her crib she just smiled at me and laughed with such exuberance, I couldn’t bear to leave her there.

Here are a few pics of her in my favorite neon-blue hat…

I’m including this one because you can see the reflection in her eyes and barely make out my Husband and I, which is kind of sweet…

Okay, also, I should let you know that I pretty much always have a song in my head…I often don’t even know where they come from, but something will trigger a few lyrics and all of a sudden a song I didn’t even know I particularly liked will be on an endless loop in my mind. Now that I have a baby, I get to sing it out loud without feeling too wierd about it. Anyway, while I’m putting together these photos, here are the lyrics to the song in my head….

{Note: I also rarely have the lyrics right….} “Ooo you make me smile! You make me dance like a fool, forget how to sing, …{something something something}… Buzz like a bee, Just the thought of you can drive me wild, Ooo you make me smile.” Okay, totally dorky. It’s obviously meant to be a love song from one adult to another, but I think it works for Baby O as well. Seriously, she really, really makes me smile.

Check out the blog next week to see this hat transformed into a “Little Monster” hat.

{Happy Monday!}
